Wish I had a fixie!

No.13 Fixed gear bikes seem to be getting increasingly popular. Driving out of London, down Hackney Rd, a few shops have opened. I'm drawn to the amazing bright colours they come in and the fact that they can be bespoke to your requirements (for a price). Obviously, how practical they are, is a minor detail! I started this illustration feeling bright. Wheels are a bit wonkey, but combined with the floor, the whole thing just pops. I should do a few of these, with a view to selling them.

Origami rabbit

No.12 The inspiration for this drawing came from my good friend Lucy. When she came to stay last weekend she was wearing a lovely, delicate, gold necklace. On it was a little gold origami swan. Loved the idea so much, thought it would work well as a rabbit (or hare, as the ears are rather long!)

Girl with an itch

No.11 I imagine this young girl sitting on a wall, in the hot sun, lazily scratching her back, whilst waiting for the bus!

Kiss

No.10 I keep drawing the human form and this time the two are locked in a ghost face kiss. Easier for me to draw nudes but thought I'd clothe the girl in a stripey vest & flouro knickers!

Money Plant

No.9 this was a pen & watercolour I did as a gift for my best buddy Sarah's 40th. She is a keen gardener & if she doesn't fancy putting it up in her house she can hang it in her potting shed!

Flower girl

No.8 I did this using pen & felt tips and although the symmetry of her face is slightly out I quite like her.

Geometric pattern

No.7 With a nod to the 90's I did this geometric pattern using flouro pens. Think it would make for a nice print.

Embroidery girl

No.6 This sketch & watercolour started off as a nude with short hair looking in the opposite direction. Lots of rubbing out & repositioning I was happy with her pose. No reference was used for this, just out of my head. It wasn't intentional for her to look Hispanic. But with those big eyes and dark hair that is how she ended up. I decided to clothe her because there is a gorgeous top I pinned ages ago on Pinterest and wanted to get that in somewhere.

Sea Life

No.4 During the Xmas holidays we went on a very muddy walk around the Discovery Centre. Afterwards we popped into Mcdonalds & I took a pic of the sea anemone in the tropical fish tank. This is my interpretation in pen & watercolour.

Bird

Sketch No.3
Today I went down to The Loft tearoom to 'touch up' and add more detail to the tide time/toilet sign I did in 2011. I thought I'd add a bird on a branch.

Flower Ballet

Sketch No.2
This drawing was done on a photocopy of an old photograph of a ballerina. I've just added to her already beautiful form. Customised her tutu & drawn a few flowers & shapes.

Thistle

Out & about over Xmas saw some thistles and took a pick on my phone. One of my New Years resolutions is to do a sketch-a-day and this is number 1
